Bohuňovice is a small town of around 2500 10km north of Olomouc. I had actually been to the town before, 10 years ago, but I could not remember a thing about it. Unlike my previous trip to Bělotín, the trip to Bohuňovice was quite easy. Just one change in Olomouc both ways.
The ground is located a short 5 minute walk from the train station. Like Haná, Bohuňovice were promoted last season from the 7th tier. Trees surrounded most of the pitch, which was in excellent condition for football at this level. The set up was quite basic, with picnic type tables behind one goal, and benches running down the line of one side of the pitch. For some reason, these benches were about 10m from the pitch with nothing in between. One the other side, was a small wooden stand which had definitely seen better days. However, it was quite unique, as you do not see many of these anymore.
Haná went into the match hoping to pick up their second win of the season, or at the very least a point. However, according to their coach, they played one of the worst 45 minutes he haf ever seen in the last 10 years of coaching the team. It was the good fortune of Haná, that the home keeper slipped up which enabled them to score the tying goal early in the second half. Unfortunately, the home team went on to score the winning goal with about 20 minutes left. It would have been a little harsh on Bohuňovice if they did not win this game.
