August 15th - Okresní Přebor Prostějov - Haná Prostějov 5 Otaslavice 2

August 15th, 2015
Okresní Přebor Prostějov II třída - 8th tier
Haná Prostějov 5 Otaslavice 2
Attendance - 40

Over the past few years, Haná has played the majority of their games on artificial turf, but for the first home match of the season they played on grass.  Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come.  As you can see the game had a sparse attendance which sadly has been a trend for Haná over the past few years.

Otaslavice were promoted from the III trída and looked a little out of place against Haná, but they did put in a strong first half performance.

Mladeč

Mladeč is a village of 759 people located 21km northwest of Olomouc.  It is best known, at least locally, for caves which people can visit.  The football team currently plays in the III třída OFS Olomouc which is the the 9th tier nationally.  As far as I can tell, they have bounced around the 8th and 9th tiers over the past few seasons.  Youth football began in 1968, and the men's team was formed shortly thereafter.

August 8th, 2015 - Vrahovice 0 Haná Prostějov 2

August 8th, 2015
Okresní Přebor Prostějov - 8th tier
Vrahovice 0 Haná Prostějov 2
Attendance - 85

The first game of the season is always something exciting.  However, the big problem with this game was that at kick off it was around 34C.  This game was kind of a city derby, as Vrahovice is basically a part of Prostějov. The players had two water breaks each half, and I had numerous beer breaks.  I was just happy that I was not playing.

July 26, 2015 - Czech Cup 1st round - Šumperk (IV) 0 Opava (II) 3

July 26, 2015 - Czech Cup 1st round
Šumperk (IV) 0 Opava (II) 3
Attendance - 750

Šumperk is a small city in Northern Moravia which is probably better known for hockey rather than football.  The football team now plays in the 4th division after being promoted last year from the 5th division.

The stadium is only a 5 minute walk from the main train station, but it has to be one of my least favourite in the Czech Republic.  Nothing ruins a football game like a huge track around the stadium.
The game was poor, and in all honesty I could not wait for it to end.  Opava brought around 100 fans and without them there would have been ZERO atmosphere.  A little dissappointing from the home supporters since it was a Czech Cup game.
