June 6, 2020 - Lipovec vs Protivanov

June 6, 2020
Lipovec vs Protivanov
Attendance - 115

I actually cannot remember the score of this match.  I know that Protivanov won, but that is it.  Protivanov plays in the 6th tier and Lipovec in the 7th tier.  Lipovec is a village of 1,190 located in the Blansko district.  The village sits at 555 metres above sea level.  Their best run of play came in the early 90's when they played in the 5th tier (South Moravia region).  Since then they have spent most of their time bouncing around the 7th and 8th tiers.

The stadium was built in the early 1970's and Lipovec brought in first tier side Brno to celebrate the occasion.  Brno ran away 15-1 winners.  In 1981, Lipovec went on a foreign tour to East Germany.

April 2020 - Jedovnice, Czech Republic

April 2020 - Jedovnice, Czech Republic

Jedovnice is a small town of 2,800 and it sits 25km north of Brno is Okres Blansko.  The area was quite famous in the Czech Republic during communism as a resort town, and it also hosted international speed boat races.  The club, formed in 1923, currently plays in the Czech 7th tier.  The pitch is also next to a large body of water (for the Czech Republic, that is), which is quite rare in this country.

May 24, 2020 - Ptení 1 Protivanov 6

May 24, 2020
Ptení (9th tier) 1 Protivanov (6th tier) 6
Attendance - 85

A few weeks back I went to Ptení for a friendly match, which is most cases I would not have bothered with.  Ptení is located around 15km from Prostějov, and has a population of 1,075. With no football being played in the Czech Republic, because of Convid-19, from early March to mid-May, I jumped at the opportunity to cycle to Ptení for a match.

It was not the most interesting of matches, because the visitors play at three levels higher. None of that really mattered, as I just wanted to watch live football again.
