August 16, 2020 - Czech Republic 7th tier - Šternberk B 2 Haná Prostějov 1 (4-1 on penalties)

August 16, 2020 - Olomoucký kraj - 7th tier
Šternberk B 2 Haná Prostějov 1 (4-1 on penalties)
Attendance - 80

Šternberk is a town of 13,500 located north of Olomouc.  The local football club was established in 1945 as SK Šternberk.  From 1963-65 the club spent two seasons at the 3rd tier of football in the country, which has to be considered the greatest success for the club.  Ivo Viktor, who won the Euro 1976 with Czechoslovakia played with Šternberk from the age of 14-18 before moving on to Železárny Prostějov.

The stadium has a nice set up, which is a little unusual for lower tier football in this country.  They have a large covered stand, which was renovated a few years ago.

As for the match, it was not really well played by either sides.  Both teams scored from the penalty spot during regulation play.

July 26, 2020 - Olomouc District Cup - 1st round - Luká 2 Nemilany 1

July 26, 2020
Olomouc District Cup - 1st Round
Luká 2 Nemilany 1
Attendance - 85

The Olomouc District Cup is usually regional qualifiers for Czech Cup.  For example, the 2020 Olomouc District Cup are qualifiers for the 2021/22 Czech Cup, but Covid-19 has complicated things.  I am not sure if the winner of the Olomouc District Cup will advance to the Olomouc Regional Qualifiers.  Anyway, the most important thing is that it is possible to watch some live football.  All the other details will fall into place.

Luká has a population of 871 and sits at 483m above sea level.  It is a rather isolate village, not too close to Prostějov or to Olomouc.  In 1900 the population was 1500, but as the years went on people began to leave the village.

Luká has just moved to the Prostějov district, even though they are located in the Olomouc district.  The reason for this is that many clubs in the Prostějov district are actually closer.  Last year they played in the 10th tier.  Since they moved to the Prostějov district, they now play in the 9th tier.  Nemilany plays in the 10th tier.

The match was interesting enough, and it looked like Nemilany was going to take the win based on their play in the first half.  However, like many football matches, the game turned around in the 2nd half and the hosts came out winners.
