This is the second time I've featured Radslavice/Haná Prostějov on my blog, as I went to Radslavice back in August 27th, 2008. I won't go into too much detail about the stadium or pitch, as it can be found in the above link.

The game on Sunday was very important for both clubs. Radslavice are battling relegation, while Haná Prostějov are in the hunt for promotion. Overall, I would say a draw was probably a fair result. The visitors had more chances on goal, but poor finishing cost them, as they had two clear chances. Radslavice didn't have as much skill, but they worked hard, and they seemed pleased with the point. I was disappointed with the result because two points were lost. However, the result isn't a disaster, as Haná is still in the hunt for promotion.

On Saturday, I made the trip to Lomnice u Rymařova (population 548, elevation 548m) for no particular reason. I more or less picked it randomly. Lomnice is located not too far from Bruntál, on the main road from Olomouc to Krnov. The village has seen better days, as in the early 20th century it had a population of 1450. The train station is only a short 2oom walk from the football pitch, so it is easy enough to find.

The home club played last year in the IV třída, but as they finished first, they were promoted. I was surprised at the pitch because it was in decent condition. The facilities at the pitch were quite basic. There was a small stand for beer, and sausages. Half of the pitch was railed off, and there were a few benches for people to sit on.

Overall, the game wasn't too bad. Both keepers let in one bad goal each, and in the end, the Vysoká deserved the three points. Surprisingly, the game wasn't too physical. I think, there was only one yellow card, which isn't a lot for this level of football.

On Sunday afternoon, I decided to travel to the small village of Biskupice (population 260). There aren't many villages of this size which has uch a small population and a football club. The club plays at the 10th, and lowest level, of football on the Czech pyramid.

Getting to Biskupice was easy enough, as there are a few direct buses on the weekends going towards Přerov. The trip takes about 25 minutes to go 15 kilometers. I arrived a little early, to find not one pub open, nor a shop, which wasn't too surprising. I walked around for a few minutes and then made my way to the pitch. On the way back, I decided to walk to a nearby village called Kralice na Hane, but it was further than I thought, so I had to run to catch the bus back.

The pitch was a little lop-sided, but the grass was in excellent condition. Part of it was surrounded by metal fencing. Seating was basic, with just a few benches scattered around the pitch. Before the game kicked off, a little window opened up in the clubhouse selling beer.

Saturday on Sunday were days of national mourning for the Polish President and government officials killed in the tragic plane crash. As such, there was a minute of silence before kick off. For a game at such a low level, I thought it was excellent. The play was fast and physical, but Doloplazy was obviously the better team. They needed to win, to keep up with hopes of getting promotion. If they did this, it would be a big surprise, as they normally sit near the bottom of the table.

The game last weekend was special, because it was the first match played at the new stadium in Prostějov. As of now, there is a stand with seating capacity of 125, a changing room facility, and electronic scoreboard. Right now 1. SK Prostějov U13 boys and Haná Prostějov play at the stadium. Over the past few months, there have been rumblings of a new men's club being formed between 1. SK Prostějov and Haná. However, it seems that talks have falling through, which is good for me, as I do not want to see Haná merged with a bigger club.

Even though Prostějov won the game 4-1, it was in all honesty, a poor match to watch. Both teams seemed to struggle getting into it, which is understandable, as both sides are still working out the cobwebs for a long winter off season. With the win, Prostějov, as of last week, sat only two points behind the leaders and automatic promotion to the 6th division.
