Sokol Čechovice 1 Sokol Mostkovice 0 - March 23/08

Both of these clubs play in the 1.A třída skupina B - Olomoucký kraj, which is essentially the 6th level of Czech football. Čechovice is a small village on the out-skirts of Prostejov. This was the first game after a few months off for the winter break. Going into the game, Čechovice sat in 4th place, a few points behind first (the only promotion spot). The visitors were near the bottom, and looking at possible relegation.

Entrance into the game was 15kc, and the attendance was probably around 150. I suspect the crowd was a little larger today since Mostkovice is quite close to Čechovice, and it is kind of a local derby. The game itself was rather uninspiring, with both clubs creating little chances. The home side scored mid-way through the second half, which ended up being the only goal of the game.

Good to see your blog on the Kempster site! I love going to the Czech Republic, I first went there on an end of season tour in May 2003, with a company called Eurosportring, with the Dulwich Hamlet Supporters' Team. I just love Prague, and went back in the October for my birthday. I've now been there seven times, and always go to watch football & ice hockey.
I'll be there again in October, ticking more grounds & visiting new places.
