September 21, 2014 - Okresní Přebor Prostějov - Přemyslovice 0 Haná Prostějov 1

Walking towards to train station in Prostějov

Train station in Stražíško

Walking towards Přemyslovice through the hills

4km to Přemyslovice

A decent ground for the 8th division

September 21, 2014
Okresní Přebor Prostějov - 8th div
Přemyslovice 0 Haná Prostějov 1
Attendance - 45
Admission - 10kc

Přemyslovice (pop 1,300) is a nightmare to get to on a weekend.  There are one or two buses from Prostějov but they are not convenient for football.  So, I had to take a 30 minute train to Stražíško and walk about 50 minute to the ground in Přemyslovice.   If you must go to Přemyslovice, go by car....

September 6, 2014 - EHF Cup - Zabrze 36 Strumica 25

EHF Cup - 1st Qualifying Round
Zabrze (Poland) 36 Strumica (Macedonia) 25
Attendance - 400

I was expecting a little larger crowd at the game because this was a European Cup match, however Zabrze priced the tickets too high (in my opinion)... 22zl, 27zl, or 57zl for a family.  The atmosphere wasn't great, but there were some people trying to create it.  5 or 6 people connected with Strumica were in the crowd, and my family (supporting Strumica).  It was a disappointing to see the visitors collapse in the 2nd half.  Zabrze were clearly a better side, but the match should have been closer.

September 3rd, 2014 - SK Prostějov 1 Al Orooba Cultural (UAE) 1

September 3rd, 2014
SK Prostějov 1 Al Orooba Cultural (UAE) 1
Attendance - 150

A Czech Republic 3rd division side versus a 2nd division side from the United Arab Emirates.  Quite a random mid-season friendly for SK Prostějov but the UAE side were in Olomouc for a 3-week training camp, and they played a few friendlies around Olomouc.  The game against SK Prostějov was the last before they returned to the UAE.

Admission for the game was free and it attracted about 150 curious on lookers.  This was not a normal friendly, as I thought the intensity and level of play was higher overall than the normal MSFL games I have seen.  Al Orooba were a much more polished side, and probably deserved the win.  They were great individual players, but SK played better as a team.

August 30th - Haná Prostějov 2 Olšany 1 (Haná won 4-3 on penalties)

August 30th, 2014
Okresní Přebor Prostějov - 8th div
Haná Prostějov 1 Olšany 1 (Haná won 4-3 on penalties)
Attendance - 35

For various reasons Haná dropped down to the 8th division this year from the 6th division.  On the plus side, they are finally back playing on grass after spending 2 years on a poor quality artificial pitch.

A few leagues around the Czech Republic have adopted the new rule of penalties if a game ends in a draw. The winner gets 2pts and the loser 1pt.  A stupid rule in my opinion.  Oh well.

August 17, 2014 - Divize E - Určice 2 Hranice 1

August 17, 2014 - Divize E (4th div)
Určice 2 Hranice 1
Attendance - 190

Určice is a small village of 1320 people located 6km south of Prostějov.  A few years ago they were promoted to the 4th tier of Czech football, and so far they have not looked out of place.

There are a few buses on the weekend to Určice from Prostějov, but they may or may not be convenient depending on what time the game starts.
