March 30th - 1. SK Prostějov U18 5 Litovel U18 1

Admission - free
Attendance - 50
Location - 2nd pitch of 1.SK Prostějov

With nothing better to do on a Sunday morning at 10am, I decided to venture out to the 1. SK Prostějov training ground to watch an U18 game. Both clubs play in the Olomoucký Prebor, which is based around Olomouc. I don't think SK Prostějov have lost a game this year, and they have pretty much dominated everyone. Today was no different. I was quite surprised at the level of play, as it was entertaining enough.

SK Prostějov does not have men's team this year, because of financial problems. They were in the 2nd division for a number of years not to long ago. Unfortunately they found themselves relegated to the third division a few years back, then the 4th division, and the 5th division. It seems like the club should have a men's team next year, but I don't know at what level.

This brings me to another point - ultras/supporters. Since the men's team doesn't exist this year, ultras/supporters have adopted the U18 side and I was quite surprised to see a few dozen at the game.

March 29/08 - Kralice Na Hané 1 FC Trul Mikulovice 0

Admission - 20kc
Attendance - about 75

Kralice Na Hané is a small village of around 1200 people located about 6km outside of Prostějov. During the week it is no problem getting to the village, but on the weekends the bus schedule is sporadic at best. So, I had to take a city bus to the last stop, a village called Cechůvky. From there I walked 2km along a one lane country road.

Both clubs are in the Přebor Olomoucký Kraj, which one of many regional fifth divisions. In fact, there are 14 regional fifth divisions scattered across the country.

Based on form, Mikulovice had to be considered favourites. They sat in 2nd place, and only had three loses all season. While the hosts were firmly placed in mid-table. The only goal game mid-way through the 2nd half. Kralice really deserved a few more goals in the last 30 minutes, but just couldn't find the back of the net. In the end, Mikulovice were lucky to only lose by a goal.

Sokol Čechovice 1 Sokol Mostkovice 0 - March 23/08

Both of these clubs play in the 1.A třída skupina B - Olomoucký kraj, which is essentially the 6th level of Czech football. Čechovice is a small village on the out-skirts of Prostejov. This was the first game after a few months off for the winter break. Going into the game, Čechovice sat in 4th place, a few points behind first (the only promotion spot). The visitors were near the bottom, and looking at possible relegation.

Entrance into the game was 15kc, and the attendance was probably around 150. I suspect the crowd was a little larger today since Mostkovice is quite close to Čechovice, and it is kind of a local derby. The game itself was rather uninspiring, with both clubs creating little chances. The home side scored mid-way through the second half, which ended up being the only goal of the game.
