I happened to be in Olomouc on Sunday morning, so I thought I would stop by to watch a little football.  Juniors should mean under 21, but some over-ages players are allowed to play. The match took place on the second pitch next to the main stadium.  It is a little awkward to watch a match at this stadium because the stands are not directly next to the pitch and on one side there is a huge net infront of the stands.

The longest away trip of the season for Haná Prostějov.  By car it takes only about 1 hour, but by train and by foot, it can take around 2.5 hours in total.  To get to the small village of around 550, I had to take a train from Prostějov to Olomouc, Olomouc to Hranice, and Hranice to Teplice nad Bečvou.  From there I had to walk around 2km to get to Ústí.  All of this in a trip of around 70km.

The first team of Ústí actually plays in the fourth tier, but they look all but certain for relegation.  Facilties at the ground were very basic.

Lutín is a town of 3,200 about 10km south-west of Olomouc, and is probably best known in the as the home of Sigma Group, a company which produces pumps.  The company was established in 1868 and still exists today but on a smaller scale.

The local football side side first started playing in 1936 and played in the 4th tier from 1992-1995.  Last year they won the Olomoucký krajský přebor, but declined promotion.  They are leading the league again, so it will be interesting to see if they take the promotion if they do in fact win.
