3rd div - November 9, 2008 - Šternberk 1 Prostějov 4
November 9, 2008
Šternberk 1 Prostějov 4 - 2.liga (3rd div)
Attendance - 250
I don't remember a lot from this game, as it was 6 years ago, but I do remember the circumstances surrounding it. Prostějov were just relegated from the 2nd division the previous season, and the club almost folded over the summer. They opened the season losing 11 games in a row before defeating Břeclav 4-1 at home. Going into the game against Šternberk they had lost 14 out of 15 games, and as such, only around 20 Prostějov supporters were at the game. There was little to no atmosphere until around the 2nd period when a group of 10 or so hooligans from Olomouc showed up. They tried to cause some problems, and as a result we were given a police escort out of the stadium after the game.
I remember the first game of the season was at home against Šternberk and a group of hooligans from Olomouc showed up as well. This time there was no security at the game and I remember an altercation of two with running fights in the stands.

Dec 6, 2014 - 3rd div handball - Prostějov 33 Kostelec na Hané 27
December 6, 2014 - 3rd division handball
Prostějov 33 Kostelec na Hané 27
Attendance - 300
Games in the various Czech Republic 3rd divisions scattered around the country generally draw around 25-100 people. Prostějov usually falls into this category as well, but not when they host Kostelec na Hané. I would say that this game probably has the best atmosphere of all 3rd division games around the country. Kostelec na Hané is a small town of around 2000 people located about 4km from Prostějov. Traditionally, Prostějov was the younger brother compared to Kostelec na Hané who played in the Czech Republic 1st division not that long ago. Now, both sides find themselves in the 3rd division, and I would argue that Kostelec na Hané are now the little brother.

Vrahovice 1 Haná Prostějov 1 (Haná won 4-3 on penalties)
Attendance - 65
The last game for Haná before the winter break was played a few weeks ago in Vrahovice. It was a rather chilly day and not many people showed up for the local derby. The pitch was not in the best condition, but the game was entertaining enough. The game ended in a draw, but Haná won 2pts thanks to a 4-3 win on penalties. Vrahovice picked up a point.

2016 ECQ in Zlín
Czech Republic 27 Macedonia 27
Attendance - 2000 (100 Macedonian supporters)
My wife is Macedonia, and my son is Macedonian/Canadian, but we live in the Czech Republic. As such, I decided to stay neutral for this game and I couldn't have been happier with the result. The Czech Republic were leading by 8 goals at the half, but collapsed in the 2nd half. The home fans were rather quiet, but that was more than made up for by the Macedonians in attendance. Handball is basically the national sport in Macedonia, and they are very passionate about it. One Macedonia fan at the end of the game said that if only they had one more minute in the game, they would have won.

Attendance - 100
Beer - Klásteř on tap
Střeň is a small village of 580 people located about 13km from Olomouc. On the weekends, trains from Prostějov via Olomouc leave towards Šumperk, with a stop in Střeň, almost every hour. So, it is very easy to reach by public transportation. The ground is about 1km from the train station, but there is a pub half way if you get the need to drink some beer. The pitch is located right beside a road, and surrounding by trees. It has to be one of my most favourite pitches I have visited over the past few years.
The game was typical for the 10th division, with both teams fighting hard and many yellow cards handed out.

October 5, 2014 - Okresní Přebor Prostějov - 8th division
Kralice na Hané B 0 Haná Prostějov 1
Attendance - 90
Admission - 10kc
Kralice is a village of around 1500 people located a few kilometers from Prostějov. This was my second visit, with my first being in March 2008 for a 5th division match between Kralice na Hané and Mikulovice.
There are a few buses from Prostějov that pass through Kralice na Hané on the weekends, but they are for the most part not convenient for football. So, I took city bus 5 to the last stop Čechůvky. From there it is about a 1.5km walk to Kralice.
The ground is quite basic, with a small stand and benches. The best thing about the ground was the pitch, as it is quite good for local football. Overall, the game was not the best, but Haná deserved the 3 points.

Okresní Přebor Prostějov - 8th div
Přemyslovice 0 Haná Prostějov 1
Attendance - 45
Admission - 10kc
Přemyslovice (pop 1,300) is a nightmare to get to on a weekend. There are one or two buses from Prostějov but they are not convenient for football. So, I had to take a 30 minute train to Stražíško and walk about 50 minute to the ground in Přemyslovice. If you must go to Přemyslovice, go by car....
